When I look back at my first batch of emails, I cringe; they were terrible. Accept that yours will be, too. A link will be broken, you’ll have a typo or typos (and everybody will email to point out your idiotic spelling mistake) or you will reread what you’ve written later and feel differently. The list of growing pain blunders goes on. It’s best to experience and move through some of those stresses and mistakes at the beginning when you don't have a huge audience yet. At first, you’ll be mortified. But it’s also not as bad as you think because the stakes are still low.
3. Email converts better. People who buy products marketed through email spend 138% more than those who do not receive email offers. In fact, email marketing has an ROI of 3800%. That’s huge! And if you are wondering if social media converts even better, think again: the average order value of an email is at least three times higher than that of social media.
If you’re new to this, you’re definitely going to face some personal resistance. After all, even if you have no hang-ups pestering people in their inbox, you’re still going to be putting your ideas and thoughts out into the world and that can be scary. We all hope that our content will be coherent, useful, not invasive or annoying and please god never offensive to anyone! For anyone who is not seasoned in the arena of public opinion, critique and criticism, putting yourself  “out there” in those first few articles or emails will be nerve-racking.
Set an expectation for frequency – The key with frequency is to strike a happy medium. With email frequency, this is more about setting expectations, rather than a particular interval. For example, if you offer a free six-day mini-course then obviously your subscribers will be expecting an email a day for the next six days. Beyond that, a weekly email might be the right frequency, particularly if your emails are short, relevant, and to the point. The other extreme is not emailing them for weeks, then surprising them (not in a good way) with something out of the blue. By that time, there’s every chance they will have forgotten they subscribed in the first place!
Get into the mind of your customers and ask yourself: What do they want to receive in their inbox? What will they get in return for giving you their email address? What is your call to action? Make sure you communicate “what’s in it for them;” be as specific as possible, so your customers know what they are signing up for. You do not want them to be disappointed once the emails start coming in. In other words, consider the value you are providing. For example:

I currently have Mail Chimp and it is set up to sync between my WordPress site and Mail Chimp. the problem is it isn’t and new subscribers to my blog are not being updated onto the list on the Mail chimp end. I have tried several fixes and nothing is working. I am unsure what to do now after endless googling it may be time to quit Mail Chimp. Seems others are having this problem also.

Now that we’ve covered some of the bear bones of crafting a good email campaign, we’ve reached the point in this email marketing guide where it’s time to talk about visuals. While many claim to prefer emails with fancy visual elements, it’s often noted that emails without them actually convert best. While we neither suggest totally ignoring this element when building your email marketing strategy nor obsessing over the aesthetics, it’s best to find a balance between the two extremes. Make sure your CTA buttons are text based so that someone who can’t see the images can still understand the email, and of course you want to prioritize things like readability and mobile friendliness. Here are a few more technical guidelines to consider when coming up with the appearance of your emails:

Some successful email marketers will only send a sales email every 4th or 5th email – the rest will just be useful content that they give away for free. When promoting ClickBank products this should be easy, since you quite likely have good information on the niche from the merchant, PLR content, or your own research. This can easily be packaged into an email to give your readers value.


Follow Program Rules – Each affiliate advertiser will have their own set of program rules. They may place limitation on the language that you use and the ways that you promote their product or service. Actually take the time to read the rules set out by each advertiser to avoid having your relationship terminated because you inadvertently broke one of their program rules.
Segment your email list as much as possible. This enables you to send more relevant emails to your subscribers. A few things you can segment on are age, gender, geographic location, engagement (opens, clicks), buyers/non buyers, interests via surveys before or after the optin. No matter how effective the subject line you’ll always have subscribers who don’t open it for a variety of reasons. Send your email again specifically targeting a list segment of those who didn’t open the first time around. Not only is this a second chance in case they just missed the first email, it’s another opportunity to further split test subject lines as well as send times.
