Segment Your Lists: You don’t want to send every single email to everyone in your database. If you did that, you’d likely have to send very general emails and even then would still need to worry about making them relevant to all recipients. In order to ensure relevancy, you need to segment your lists. This practice can go a long way toward helping you reach the goal of delivering the right message to the right person at the right time.
Don’t assume that affiliate marketing is.. well, just emailing a couple of advertisements. It can open doors of opportunities between you and your audience. Create captivating and interesting emails, not only to draw your current audience in but to make it irresistible for them not to forward to their family and friends as well. Great examples like hosting a refer-a-friend promotion, life hacks and tips and tricks, product comparisons in the current market. These are wonderful ways to attract new potential readers, luring them in and increasing your email list!
A (potential) customer has subscribed, now what? The first follow-up email the (potential) customer receives after signing up is crucial to the success of your email marketing campaign. Using the email service provider you have selected (i.e. MailChimp, Constant Contact, GetResponse etc.), employ the autoresponder sequence for this immediate follow-up email. This email should include an introduction to the company, as well as specify what you plan on doing with your new subscriber’s email address. For more specific directions, look over Mailify’s infographic outlining the 10 ingredients you need to craft the perfect newsletter.
With that said, there is a right and a wrong way to set up your autoresponder sequence. If you think that this solution should be used to bombard a list of potential email contacts with one offer after another, you would only be abusing its ability without maximize its potential. Affiliate marketers often recognize the value of an email marketing campaign, but struggle to find a balance between providing value and promoting products. Common questions from affiliate marketers include:

Segment your email list as much as possible. This enables you to send more relevant emails to your subscribers. A few things you can segment on are age, gender, geographic location, engagement (opens, clicks), buyers/non buyers, interests via surveys before or after the optin. Additionally, you can also work with email append services that can fill in the gaps for you. You will want to include this in your privacy policy.
Provide interesting content. Avoid obvious sales pitches. Instead of immediately pitching your product, make the email about your readers. Instead of long-winded descriptions of your products and all the amazing services you provide, write about problems that might be afflicting your readers, then introduce solutions that include your products and services.[10]
Track Metrics and Conduct A/B Testing: How well are you doing currently and what can you do to improve? Paying attention to the data from your previous email campaigns and testing hypotheses about improvements you can make via A/B testing can help answer these questions and take your efforts to the next level. In terms of metrics, be sure to monitor open rate, bounce rate, click through rate, unsubscribe rate and inbox placement rate. When it comes to A/B testing, common fields to test include subject line, image placement and design. In general, the more data you can capture and analyze, the more strategic you can be going forward.
Focus on the reader first. You should always write your emails to address the needs of your subscribers, not yours. Offer ways to solve their problems, don’t simply talk about your products and how great they are. (This is a part that so many companies get wrong.) Ask yourself, what are the biggest pain points/struggles for my subscribers? How can I solve their current problem in this email?
[two_third]A simple web search on online marketing can present you with a dizzying array of often contradictory information on the best way to market to your readers. The thing is, there’s no one approach that works for every business, let alone each specific group of people. And since nobody can offer you the perfect blueprint for your unique email list, the most important thing is to test. You’ll want to analyze your data from time to time, with a special look at the following:[/two_third]
Now, you can automatically send highly relevant emails encouraging them to buy the product or service they were considering. Customers who received multiple abandoned shopping cart emails are 2.4 times more likely to complete the purchase than those who receive only one followup email, according to Experian. Try sending the first message one day after, a second message 48 hours after, and possibly a third message within three or four days of abandonment.
If you wish to drive direct responses then Marketing Offer is the best type of Email campaign for you. These types of emails are used for displaying some of the latest stocks. Marketing offer encourages people to make a purchase and in case, your Email campaign offers any discount or involved in the promotion of your products then you should opt for this one. It has a direct CTA for targets so they can click on your site and make a purchase.
Among the obstacles a small business or online seller has to face is finding a cost-efficient way to market their brand to a wider audience. That’s where email marketing comes in. Whether it’s your grand opening or your company is already well-established, an effective email marketing plan is key to promoting and growing your business, increasing revenue, and selling more stuff.
At some point in your email campaigns, even if they once opted into your emails, some recipients may not want to hear from you anymore. That’s ok (and a natural part of the email lifecycle), as long as you have a solid unsubscribe system in place for these users. The ability to unsubscribe from your email program should never be challenging and should be available in one click.
I’m not happy at all with MailChimp. Has anyone found the same problems with MailChimp as I have? I find that many of my list members unsubscribe from my list daily. I know these people ands contact them and they say they have not unsubscribed. twice I even found my own email taken off the list. When I look into the MailChimp list Spam is the reason for the person’s unsubscription. Over the years I’ve been on MailChimp I’ve contacted support and I’ve done everything I can but nothing has changed. I’m now looking to move to another company.
Use it to send new subscribers a “welcome” sequence. This is the message that you send to people right after they subscribe to your email list. It could contain a link to your lead magnet for an easy download, a thank you for subscribing, and maybe a call-to-action to check out your most popular blog posts. Every email list needs a welcome series: don’t miss this chance to “woo” your new subscribers and turn them into loyal fans!
This is the #1 mistake affiliates make with email marketing. While it’s great to have a list to sell to, you don’t want to be selling all the time. Break up the stream of email sales offers with some content. Aim for about an 80/20 split. That would be four straight emails that give great content to your reader and then one email of take, which is the selling part.
Depending on the products or services that your company offers, a newsletter could be a great fit. This is an especially good type of email campaign if you frequently publish blog posts or other informative articles. Your newsletter could simply be a roundup of your current content. People aren’t likely to read a word heavy email though. Email newsletters should be visually appealing.  Include concise headlines with a brief description of the article along with a pretty graphic.  Also include a clear call to action link for the recipient to read more. This allows you to include multiple pieces of content in order to appeal to a wider audience but without overwhelming the reader.

Email marketing is the use of email to send promotions, advertisements, newsletters and other communication to your customers and clients. Email messages may be as simple as a few lines of text or as elaborate as a full page newsletter, complete with images. Keep things simple when you're just starting out and use email services that handle most of the steps for you so that you can concentrate on the message you want to send.
Use it to promote up-sells/cross-sells. You can even set up an autoresponder sequence for someone after they purchase and get repeat customers. Depending on the products you sell, you could offer an upsell, or cross sell related products. For example, if someone buys a digital camera, you can offer to add a lens, a tripod, and other accessories to their order before it ships. Or, if you sell products that people buy frequently (like food or disposable items, like diapers), you can automatically send them offers for new items when you know they’re about due for another order.
As an affiliate, you are drawing people in to your site, then redirecting them off your site in order to make a sale. In the short time they are on your site, you need to capture their email address or you may never see or hear from them again. A pop-up is the best way to do this.  GetResponse lets you create pop-ups and lightboxes from within your account. See our post about pop-ups to learn how to make them in your GetResponse account.
The content you create and share should engage people in ways that make them clients in the future. Start by asking, “Whose attention am I trying to keep and what would they be interested in seeing from me?” If it’s on brand for you, it’s also valuable to them. Do this, and people will love you for sharing your expertise with them and will ask for more (or, at least, stay subscribed long enough to get to know you and your business better until the the time is right for them to buy).
Email design matters in any successful email marketing campaign. If your emails look terrible, that reflects badly on you, and can make people stop reading. With more people than ever reading emails on mobile devices, it’s important to use a responsive email template so your email resizes automatically whether people are reading it on a phone, tablet, or desktop.

In a post at the MailChimp blog, Goat Milk Stuff cofounder PJ Jonas said that while she and her husband Jim (and their eight children, who also help run the company) diligently collected emails during trade shows, they wanted to expand without compromising their business’ approachable, family-friendly values. Surprisingly, email marketing allowed them to do both.
Honestly, when I say “be real” – I mean it.  Don’t be afraid to talk about your failures with people (on your list).  They want to know that you weren’t BORN rich, or one of those naturally fit people that was just made to be a fitness model.  They want to hear your story, they want to hear your struggles, they went to know that you were in the SAME PLACE AS THEY ARE RIGHT NOW, DAMMIT!

Another common mistake is to only send sales pitches to your readers.  “There’s more to sending out an email than putting some pictures of your product and saying, ‘okay, go buy it,’ because people won’t keep looking at the email if you don’t spend a little bit of time writing it,” says Bastian. Instead, post highly valuable content your readers are interested in and which they would benefit from, whether they use your product or not. Things like how-tos, tips and product help are popular types of content.[/two_third]
The post is very informative and the list you have shared with is great, but the Constant Contact is good I think to start the company as the live chat features are powerful in it can solve the one query on time. But it’s chargeable that to $20 at least it should be $10, I don’t know much about its but I’ll try for that free package and check it. Thank You.
5. Long cookie life. Buyers need time before reaching a purchase decision. We, at Moosend, are aware of this, which is why we grant a longer cookie life. You see, the decision-making process of a lead depends on several factors, such as the stage they are at in terms of acknowledging the need, other psychological factors, seller reputation, and influencer reputation. So, it’s only fair that you, as an influencer, are given enough time while the buyer goes through the purchase process. Enjoy a 60-day cookie period and achieve the maximum commissions possible, with our email marketing affiliate program.
Breaking up your sending volumes to a consistent level shows the ISPs it’s just business as usual (and you’re not a phisher or spammer). If you do end up sending high volumes of mail, make sure you build up your volume gradually (this can be done when warming up a new sending IP)—send too much mail at one time and you’re asking to be throttled by ISPs which can delay delivery time, frustrate your users, and likely cause a decrease in engagement.
Not only was this initial email great, but his response to my answers was even better: Within a few days of responding to the questionnaire, I received a long and detailed personal email from Matt thanking me for filling out the questionnaire and offering a ton of helpful advice and links to resources specifically catered to my answers. I was very impressed by his business acumen, communication skills, and obvious dedication to his readers.
The key difference from an autoresponder is that workflows are smart: They can change the course of your automated series based on what your prospect will find useful. For instance, if a new subscriber receives a welcome email and the subsequent email is set up to send them an offer that they already found and downloaded on your site, the workflow tool will know and adapt. In an autoresponder, a user receives a specific set of emails at specific time intervals no matter what action they take.
Which is why you should just turn those notifications off. Don’t even pay attention to the numbers early on because every unsubscribe is going to feel personal. I used to obsessively refresh unsubscribe data and experienced each one as a breakup, like I was being dumped! But we’re not for the people who don’t need and like what we have to offer, we’re for the ones who love it and can’t get enough! Now I don't even look at the unsubscribe list. (Cue Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable”)
Integration – Companies can not just rely on one method of marketing, nor can they rely on several methods of differentiated marketing. Instead, best marketing practices utilise integrated marketing communication (IMC) where all aspects of their promotion work together to create a whole. Email marketing must be including here, therefore your emails must carry the same image and message as your entire operations. Even the timing of the campaign must work in with other aspects of your marketing mix.
Until you have cash, your king is content. The more you publish articles product reviews, visitor feedback and information on your website (or in your blog), the more chance you get visitors to your website. Search engines like to show newly written content. Therefore, we advise you to add new pages to your site at least every few days. Make sure your site is easy to find by visitors by using a good site navigation or site nap.
Updating your subscriber list is an endless task. It will continuously include some stale addresses because people tend to switch their emails often for myriad reasons including changes in jobs and family names. They might also simply lose interest after a few months of being subscribed. Always remember that a smaller email list of quality addresses is better than a large one with a high bounce rate. In fact, even Hubspot deleted 250K subscribers from their own email list for the sake of better deliverability rates.

It’s one of the most effective marketing approaches because a person who decides to share their information with you shows that they are interested in your blog or business and what it is offering. With this in mind, it is clear that the person is also willing to buy your products or services, explaining why email marketing has high conversion rates.
Affiliate should be enjoyable and you have the flexibility to work anytime and anywhere. A large percentage of companies earn money from their sites as a hobby as well as full time jobs, many have earned second additional revenue by doing so. Go to the right way at this point; thus, you can learn a lot about the internet, your domain and consumer behavior. By joining a community and working with a guide; besides making money, you also have a chance to meet new people along the way.
"Why aren't millennials moving?" The subject line of this email campaign reads before citing interesting data about relocation trends in the U.S. Trulia doesn't benefit from people who choose not to move, but the company does benefit from having its fingers on the pulse of the industry -- and showing it cares which way the real estate winds are blowing.
If you are overwhelmed by the sheer number of advertisers that list their products on affiliate networks, you can simplify the process by looking at what products and services your competitors and other similar websites are promoting. If several other websites are all promoting a specific advertiser and they have been for several months, there’s a good chance they are making good money by promoting that advertiser. To identify which advertising network a particular advertiser is using, simply do a web search for the name of the advertiser followed by the word “affiliate program” and the sign-up link will appear more often than not.
When you create a Mailchimp account, we automatically set you up with a no-cost Forever Free plan. This option allows you to experiment with our tools and figure out how to best use our platform. So if you’re just getting off the ground, this is one less cost you have to consider. You can remain on the Forever Free plan as long as you have 2,000 or fewer subscribers across all lists in your account.
While it may seem quick and easy to purchase a list of email addresses, it will hurt you way more than it will help. For one thing, you’ll see a huge number of people unsubscribing from the very beginning. Wouldn’t you rather measure who’s saying yes than who’s saying no? Purchasing a list will also reflect poorly on your brand and the credibility of your company.
Kick off with a fantastic subject line – Some people have to deal with so many emails that they often make a decision on whether to read an email based on the subject line – so think of it as your one shot at glory. Give them a great reason to read your email, such as “1-day 50% off sale” or “5 reasons why your dog doesn’t listen to you.” The better you know your audience, the more effective your subject lines will be.

After you have found an advertiser that you want to promote and have signed up for their affiliate program through an advertising network, you will be given hyperlinks to use that will track any sales that you generate. They may also include an image tag that serves as a tracking pixel for you to include in your email. You will write a sales and marketing email to your audience as you normally would for one of your own company’s products and services. Use the hyperlink they provided you as the hyperlink in your call-to-action so that sales are properly tracked. If they provided a tracking pixel, place it in your HTML at the bottom of your email so that the number of times the offer was viewed can be properly tracked by the affiliate program.

If customers are genuinely interested in what you have to sell, they will remain on the email list for good. Beside having sales and promotions on your store, one great way to ensure that your customers stay loyal to you is to have great content in your emails. Interesting content will also leave your audience wanting more and drive them to sign up in order not to miss out when you publish new content.

While almost all reputable email service providers work very hard to make sure that your emails are not blocked by major ISP’s, they can’t control whether or not your emails hit the inbox or the spam box. Although most will help you by providing a quality score to help you determine availability, getting whitelisted is the most effective way to ensure that your emails get delivered properly.
