Promote your email sign-up on your website, blog, landing pages, “thank you” pages (after users have filled out a form), as well as at any live events. Most importantly, communicate what they are signing up for when they submit their email address. Building your subscriber lists the right way will ensure that email engagement remains high and your emails get in front of the eyes that matter.
We are witnessing the growth of the Internet at the speed of light; it is only a matter of time before every single person is connected by the web. Nowadays, it represents the main medium for information and news. The Internet can also be described as a huge market where every kind of merchandise is being sold. Affiliate email marketing is one of the successful ways to improve sales and promote your business at the same time and has made selling services and products much easier than it used to be.
Purchased lists are ineffective, and they impact everyone else who uses Mailchimp, too. If you send emails to a list of people whose contact info you bought, many of the emails will get identified as spam. Some spam filters will flag a campaign if anyone with the same IP has sent spam in the past. When you use Mailchimp, your email is delivered through our servers, so if one person sends spam, it could prevent other users’ emails from reaching inboxes. But by forbidding Mailchimp users from using purchased lists, we increase deliverability for everyone.

Not only is InVision's newsletter a great mix of content, but I also love the nice balance between images and text, making it really easy to read and mobile-friendly -- which is especially important, because its newsletters are so long. (Below is just an excerpt, but you can read through the full email here.) We like the clever copy on the call-to-action (CTA) buttons, too.
Know your spam rules. A lot of innocent people send spam because they didn't know any better. Read up on the CAN-SPAM act to avoid any trouble. Put simply, you're allowed to send bulk email only to people who specifically asked to be on your mailing list. If you collected email addresses for a lunch giveaway or an event invitation, then you don't have permission to send marketing emails unless you made that clear at signup. Include an obvious unsubscribe link in every email, and don't forget to remind subscribers how they got on your list in the first place.
A significant element of email marketing is relationship. Does a recipient trust you? Does a recipient even know who you are? When an email jumps the gun by forcing familiarity too soon, the personalization comes across as skeevy. Intimacy is earned in real life, and it would appear to be the same way with email. Take this example from my inbox; no one has called me lowercase kevan l lee in years.
Your job isn’t over once the email hits those inboxes. In fact, for some people this is the real job … and the really fun part! We wrote an entire blog post on how to measure the effectiveness of your email marketing and what to do to make it even more successful. You can read it here, but in the meantime, remember that these three things are the most important to track when you’re analyzing your email marketing.
But anyone who’s tried email marketing knows it’s not as simple as quickly drafting a message and hitting the “send” button. You have to build a healthy email list, make sure you’re complying with CAN-SPAM regulations, segment your lists so you’re delivering the right messages to the right people, create different types of emails for all different situations, design attractive and on-brand emails, analyze results ... is your head spinning yet?
Send a welcome email or series of emails to new subscribers. These emails earn 9x more money than promotional newsletters, and they turn your subscribers into customers. At this point, 74.4% of customers actually claim they expect to receive a welcome email. Don’t let them down. In this email, show your appreciation for their interest in your store, and offer a discount for their first purchase. See here for more welcome email ideas.

For instance, I like getting the New York Times cooking recipes. My partner Steve enjoys getting updates on the latest shows added to Netflix. I would never want an email from Netflix telling me anything, instant unsubscribe! Does this mean Netflix doesn’t benefit from its email marketing? Of course not. I am not someone who enjoys their emails so their email content isn’t really for me. It also doesn't affect my use or enjoyment of their service so let’s dispel the fear that if someone doesn’t enjoy your email content they will not use your service. So whether you prefer Seth Godin’s marketing emails or Marie Forleo’s weekly videos, the point is that marketing emails are all about what you have to offer that your ideal customers want and need. Not what everyone wants.
Subject line. What does better for you, emails with lots of information in the subject line or those with just a bit? If you have 200 addresses or more on your email list, A/B split testing can help you analyze two different subject lines for the exact same post to see which one gets a better response. There may be specific subject lines for your list that you’d like to test as well.
At some point in your email campaigns, even if they once opted into your emails, some recipients may not want to hear from you anymore. That’s ok (and a natural part of the email lifecycle), as long as you have a solid unsubscribe system in place for these users. The ability to unsubscribe from your email program should never be challenging and should be available in one click.

Aweber is another favorite tool that is aimed at small and mid-sized businesses. It also packs an enormous amount of features, making it an outstanding email management software tool. Automation, tracking and template building are all easy to perform with this tool, earning it a place on this shortlist. It can also be easily integrated into all types of websites.
The content you create and share should engage people in ways that make them clients in the future. Start by asking, “Whose attention am I trying to keep and what would they be interested in seeing from me?” If it’s on brand for you, it’s also valuable to them. Do this, and people will love you for sharing your expertise with them and will ask for more (or, at least, stay subscribed long enough to get to know you and your business better until the the time is right for them to buy).

If you’ve been following along from the beginning, you have now learned how to grow your email list to epic proportions, you’ve segmented your list so that your emails are highly relevant to each individual subscriber, and you’ve learned how to send amazingly effective emails that have a high open-rate. Now you are ready to automate the process and turn your campaigns into money-making machines!
There are plenty of ways to attract customers to sign up on your email list. It is not difficult and not at all time-consuming. One great way is to build in a popup window to notify your customers to sign up to receive latest updates and promotion of your website. Another method is to entice their participation by dangling a contest or lucky draws. Unique content and reader appeal will generally result in higher search engine ratings too, which in turn should drive more traffic and conversions.
I’d suggest starting with bi-weekly newsletter campaigns, in combination with other email campaigns where you send out emails based on special occasions, which could include Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, July 4th, or Valentine’s Day. These campaigns usually work better than sending generic promotional emails periodically. People tend to spend their money at holidays, so use those days wisely, and plan your campaign in advance. Here’s a retail calendar for 2017; use it for your planning.
Provide interesting content. Avoid obvious sales pitches. Instead of immediately pitching your product, make the email about your readers. Instead of long-winded descriptions of your products and all the amazing services you provide, write about problems that might be afflicting your readers, then introduce solutions that include your products and services.[10]

Maybe you simply want to gain some useful email marketing tips to help boost your existing campaign. No matter which stage you are in with regard to email marketing, this channel can do wonders in boosting sales and increasing traffic to your site. We just started using MailChimp because it seems to be the only one that offers a free account for small or new users. The problem is that there are so many steps for a potential subscriber to go through with both double opt-in and recaptcha, that we are getting at best complaints to worst, plain nasty comments posted on our Facebook page. We don’t know how many would be subscribers we lost because of this.
For non automated emails and newsletters, you should always resend the same message to everyone who didn't open and or click your last email. This isn't always accurate, because email open tracking doesn't work if someone has images disabled. But doing this usually gets you an extra 20-30% boost.  I usually test out a totally new subject line on the resends. You can also rewrite part of the email with a different angle.
Ultimately, the goal of your email campaigns is to convert your email leads into buying customers. This means that your recipients need to open your email, and then they need to click on the call to action. You want to make this as easy as possible. Given that a majority of people are now using mobile devices to access the internet, make sure that your email templates are mobile optimized. This ensures that the images and text remain readable. They will also display proportionately. Mobile optimization is especially important for your call to action. If it doesn’t display correctly, then readers won’t click on it.

For example, if you see that the majority of your signups are being generated from forms you’ve shared on Facebook and Twitter, then you might want to focus on connecting with your customers—and potential customers—through social media. You can even create segments to target people who joined your list through a specific method, whether it’s an integration like Facebook, an app like Mailchimp Subscribe, an e-commerce integration, or a hosted form. And if there’s a specific page on your website you want to track signups from, you can add a hidden field to your embedded form and place it on multiple pages.

But while automations are designed to take some of the work and effort out of engaging with your customers, your emails should show that you care. You should take time to research what your customers like to help make your emails sound human and personal. Above all, marketing automation is an opportunity to deepen your relationship with your customers.
Updating your subscriber list is an endless task. It will continuously include some stale addresses because people tend to switch their emails often for myriad reasons including changes in jobs and family names. They might also simply lose interest after a few months of being subscribed. Always remember that a smaller email list of quality addresses is better than a large one with a high bounce rate. In fact, even Hubspot deleted 250K subscribers from their own email list for the sake of better deliverability rates.

In this section of our email marketing guide, we’ll look how you can add interactive elements to your emails. To maintain your audience’s interest, use these in your email marketing strategy. Nowadays, technology allows you to send videos, animated GIFS, and more right inside the body of the email. These extra details bring spectacular results. For instance, email marketers claim that after embedding a video into emails, the click-through rate increases by 55% and the conversion rate increases by 24%.

Businesses that choose to make email offers, usually belong to the e-commerce industry. The benefit for those who are on the mailing list is specific offers that they can get from your company. This kind of approach provides value for both parties. The business can increase the number of sold items, whereas the customer is in a special position as a result of being subscribed to your business.

It is a email marketing best practice to include information along with your sign-up form to let your new subscribers know exactly how often you plan on emailing them (whether it’s once a month or twice a week, or another timeframe), and what type of information you’ll be sending. That way, people know right away what they’re signing up for when they sign up, and expectations are set, so there aren’t any surprises.
Whether you are an affiliate marketer, or do affiliate email marketing as a side-business to complement your income and your current services, it is in your best interest to find the highest-converting programs to promote. Essentially, market research requires your investing time, energy and effort in discovering what is a win-win solution both for your client and your reputation, as well as your income.
