Full-featured email apps don't have to be complicated and confusing to use. VerticalResponse proves that with its clean, simple interface that makes it simple to make beautiful emails and send them to your contacts. You can use its pre-made templates, add your own photos complete with filters, and then turn the templates into both emails and matching signup forms.
Haven’t used email marketing as much as I should. Previously, we tried using ImnicaMail because of their pricing but it was as good as not having an email marketing campaign; all our mail was sent to spam (since they did not manage their customers’ list for spam). Thought email marketing wasn’t effective until I found out our emails were being sent to the spam box. Learnt my lesson there.

Thanks Kelly, Mailchimp have definitely come a long way with their UI over the years, it’s just their service that hasn’t caught up ;) I haven’t had the chance to play around with Pure360 as much as I’d like, but I’ve heard the same things echoed by several friends who use their service. Looking at their client list, I think they’re more aimed at large companies though.
We were impressed by GetResponse’s customer service. After finding an error in our account registration, we called the support line and were helped immediately by a representative who was extremely polite, understanding, and who never tried to upsell us. Maybe it was just compared to MailChimp’s lack of service options (email support is only available for the first 30 days of the Forever Free plan), but we found ourselves particularly grateful to have our concerns addressed promptly and personally.
So maybe you should look for a paid system from the beginning instead of losing time on free tools? If you need a powerful but inexpensive email system, have a look at our system! User Engage is a simple to use and yet powerful marketing automation tool - all you need to do is to set up a widget on the website. We are one of the newer companies, smaller and not as renowned as the top marketing automation sellers with tens of thousands of clients but that also means we are more flexible, easier to implement and our prices are much lower!
If you like to customize everything about your emails, down to how they're sent, Sendwithus is the email app for you. It's designed to let you send emails from your own app, using the transactional email sending service of your choice. Instead of building email features into your own app or site, Sendwithus gives your team one place to manage your email templates, organize and sort your contacts, then trigger new emails via a CURL or API call. You can use Amazon SES, Postmark, SendGrid, Mandrill and more to send your messages, then track their stats and more in your Sendwithus dashboard.

We evaluated the data from 150,000 businesses that use Mailchimp and determined that although tools like abandoned cart, product follow-up, and category follow-up automations are the most effective for selling more stuff, there are others that work better for boosting customer loyalty or re-engaging customers. See what works for best for meeting a variety of customer needs.
What Users Say: Mailchimp is not just one of the most popular email marketing products; but products across the entirety of G2 Crowd. With over 2,500 Mailchimp reviews and the highest user satisfaction rating of any email marketing platform, small businesses can’t go wrong with Mailchimp. Users enjoy Mailchimp’s personalization capabilities and email building, but at the same time, users rate the email marketing service’s quality of support as below average. On top of its market presence and user love, Mailchimp recently began to transition to a complete marketing automation solution.
Email automations: Slightly more complex and flexible than autoresponders, as they don’t need to be on a time schedule. You can tag a user depending on the page they visit on your site and send them customized automated emails. Or you can trigger an email based on behavior (for example when they unsubscribe). Some of these automations can go really far with site-tracking and complex logic trees.
For this, we’d suggest either ActiveCampaign (our favourite), Drip, or ConvertKit. We’ve reviewed all three below, starting with ActiveCampaign. As you’re running an eCommerce site, we’ll focus on tools that allow you to import SKUs and integrate nicely with your shopping cart and payment processor, to make upselling, cross-selling and re-activating check-out drop-offs easier.
